At a hospital in Quetta, a Pakistani border city where Afghan victims of war are brought for treatment, Independent journalist Robert Fisk spoke to an eyewitness of an air strike in Kazikarez village a few days prior. The man, whose name was Mahmat, explained that he had been asleep in his home in the village when a bomb from an American B-52 targeted his village. Six of his children died: Nourali, Jaber, age ten, Janaan, eight, Salamo, six, Twayir, four, and Palwasha, two. His wife, who also suffered injuries, was in the hospital bed next to him.
